Hidden Treasure Soy Candle Review + Giveaway

There's a great new trend for home decor/gift ideas out there that is a pleasant twist on your traditional candle.  Hidden Treasure Soy Candles capitalized on this super creative idea to offer treasures inside of their candles that would work for everyone!  These hand poured soy candles have hemp wicks so that they clean burn.  Hidden Treasure has 30 different candle scents, currently, and plan to add new scents each season.  Right now, they have Summer Scents, Layered Scents, and Fall Scents - all with yummy names and smells!

Now back to the treasure inside of the candles - You'll be getting a treasure inside of your candle.  Mostly, you'll expect to find an adorable gold-plated or silver necklace that can range in value.  It gets even better because there are three HUGE treasures that you can find locked within a treasure chest necklace:

- iPad 3
- Le Vian necklace ($1,000 value)
- Tiffany & Co. Pendant ($5,000 value)

Every 500 candles contains a special code for one of the Grand Prizes above.

Heavenly Honeysuckle Hidden Treasure Soy Candle
Hidden Treasure Soy Candles sent me a fabulous candle to review and share my experience with you.  Now, I will say that I did not get to choose my candle scent; so, when I received the Heavenly Honeysuckle candle, I didn't know what to expect.  I'm not a huge fan of floral candles or scents at all.  With the Heavenly Honeysuckle candle I was pleasantly surprised.  It was sweet, yet floral, without being overly perfume-like.  They did a wonderful job capturing the natural smell of the honeysuckle for this candle.

Just to sidebar, you have no idea how badly I wanted to photograph my candle outdoors with a bunch of honeysuckle.  Unfortunately, there was none available for me to use.  It would have been PERFECT!

Attached to every Hidden Treasure Soy Candle is a cute rolled up note (reminds me of a treasure map) that tells you more about the treasure inside of your candle.  They give you an easy to follow method for removing your necklace.  I can safely say that this is absolutely the best way to get your treasure out of your candle.  Unless you're impatient and want to dig the necklace out immediately.  I don't suggest the dig method because it ruins the look of your soy candle and you don't get to enjoy the amazing scents while you wait for the foil to show.

READY FOR THE BURN

I was excited about getting started on burning my candle so that I could get to the treasure ASAP!  So, I immediately lit the candle and waited. . . and waited. . . and waited.

The excitement you'll feel when you see the foil peek out of the soy wax will be enough to make you squeal while jumping up and down.  No, I'm not exaggerating.  For me, it only took about 10 hours of burning - give or take a few hours.  I would light the candle, put it in a safe place, and let it burn throughout the day.  In total, it was approximately two days of long burning before I saw the foil poke out.  Make sure you let it burn down until it's sticking out as much as the second photograph.  Blow out the flame, grab your tweezers, and pull it out!  You'll have some resistance because not all of the wax is melted.  Don't worry - just continue to pull and the warm wax will give way.

THE BIG REVEAL

LOOK!  I got a beautiful silver swan necklace with a huge amethyst stone.  The necklace is extremely heavy, and I think that the stamp on the back may have something to do with that.  I would share a photo of it, but I don't have a macro lens.  My necklace's stamp reads: "18KRGP."  Now, I haven't taken it to a jeweler to see what he/she thought about it, but with a little internet research I found the it means 18K Real Gold-Plated.  It appears that I received something a little more expensive than your average necklace.  So, there are some great necklaces out there that are work more than your average costume jewelry.
